The ancient city of Kashan isn’t foreign to the idea of a hotel in the shape of
a historic house. There are near a hundred historic houses in Kashan from
different eras of Iranian history and many of these houses have been turned into
hotels and guesthouses. But only one such historic house in Kashan has the
standards of a five-star accommodation and that is Saraye Ameriha Hotel. One
important fact about Saraye Ameriha Hotel is that it is one of the oldest and
most beautiful historic hotels not only in Kashan but in Iran. The building of
the hotel was built during the reign of Zand dynasty more than 250 years ago. It
was renovated in 2014 and became the first luxurious historic hotel in Kashan.
Saraye Ameriha Boutique Hotel
in Kashan has 21 rooms and an extraordinary array of suites. The spacious and
wonderful courtyard of the hotel with its large fountain pool and charming
little Iranian gardens is the perfect hangout area for the guests of the hotel.
And the incredible thing is that this is just one of five courtyards in a
complex that includes two other historic houses. The unique grandeur of the
historic building together with modern amenities and excellent service has made
Saraye Ameriha the best option among the hotels in Kashan. But it is also one of
the most expensive of Kashan’s hotels and not every one’s cup of tea, especially
if you are on a budget trip. Those people are better off with the cheap hotels
in Kashan. Kashan’s budget hotels are especially favored by both Iranians and
foreign travelers due to their wonderful diversity and quality of service. But
one thing is same among all of
Kashan’s hotels
irrespective of the level of luxury and it is their online booking services.
This makes the booking process very simple especially when you want to contact
the hotels directly.

Kashan’s Tours
Kashan’s tours are a
constant presence in the annual schedule of all Iranian travel tours. A Kashan
tour may be in the form of a city sightseeing tour or a desert tour. The latter
is particularly popular due to the existence of the fabulous Maranjab desert,
one of the most beautiful sand deserts in Iran. But there is another
extraordinary place that is a greatly favored by
Iran tours and that is of course the
magical Abyaneh Red Village. In the three paragraphs below, we will further
discuss the major tourist attractions of Kashan.
Kashan Sightseeing Tour
Kashan is a small city but presents an extraordinary collection of tourist spots
in its sightseeing tours. To elucidate what we mean by the word “extraordinary”
in the sentence above, it suffices to say that 83 historic houses in Kashan have
been inscribed as Iran’s national heritage sites. Add some other glorious sites
such as Fin Garden, Aminoddole Carvansarai and Agha Bozorg Mosque to the list of
the houses and you will realize how difficult it must be for those in charge of
Kashan’s one
day tour to choose between so many superb sightseeing spots.

Abyaneh Red Village Tours
Abyaneh is known as the Red Village and is visited by hundreds of tours every
year. You may wonder why
Abyaneh tours are among the most popular packages in Iran traditional
villages tours. There are many reasons for that including its unique
geographical location and cultural significance. The Red Village lies in a
mountainous area surrounded by flat deserts. In fact, making a turn towards the
road that leads to the village is like entering a new world. One characterized
by massive rocks, winding mountainous paths, valleys and lots of greenery which
is completely at odds with the dominant climate and vegetation of the region
(hot and dry desert climate). The other feature of Abyaneh Red Village which is
a major factor in its popularity, is the special status of the Red Village as
one of the most ancient rural regions in Iran. People of Abyaneh are among the
very few people in modern-day Iran who speak an ancient dialect of Middle
Persian. Language isn’t the only aspect that is preserved in Abyaneh. People
still wear their traditional clothes, build their houses in the local tradition
with the famous red soil of the village and savor their own dairy products and
tasty cuisine. In addition to the village which is a live museum on its own, Abyaneh has a couple of wonderful historic sights. These include a fire temple,
an ancient fort and some other historic monuments.

Maranjab Desert
The Great Salt Desert (Dasht-e Kavir) and Lut Desert constitute one-fourth of
Iran’s vast area. While the latter is famous for its scorching sun and marvelous
natural formations known as Kalouts, the former is the land of infinite oceans
of dune. Maranjab desert tours take you to one of the most beautiful deserts in
Dasht-e Kavir. Although there are other spectacular spots to visit in the course
of Kashan desert tours,
Maranjab desert
tour is undoubtedly the most popular one in Kashan and among the top
three desert tours in Iran. Contrary to what most people think, deserts aren’t
always sunny and hot. Maranjab desert’s weather gets very cold during nighttime
and on windy days, sand storms are very frequent. So before heading towards the
desert and all its wonders including sights such as Maranjab Salt Lake and
Maranjab Caravanserai, be sure to check the weather forecast, especially if you
are traveling on your own. For a solo trip in Maranjab desert you should also
get its last updated map which is found easily on the internet.

Kashan Tourist Attractions
Iran is a country known for its extremely diverse tourist attractions. You will
find a great many of these among
Kashan’s tourist
attraction.
Maranjab Desert,
Abyaneh Red Village (Abyaneh is a part of Isfahan province but due to
its proximity to Kashan, it is a part of almost all Kashan tours), Kashan’s old
bazaar,
Fin
Garden and near a hundred historic houses are among the most visited
sites in Kashan. We have already written about Maranjab and Abyaneh. Here we
will take a look at some of the most prominent landmarks of the city of Kashan.
1. Fin Garden
Fin Garden is the name of a complex in the old town of Kashan which includes a
grand Iranian garden and a famous public bath. Fin Bathhouse was the place where
Amir Kabir, one of the most inspirational politicians in Iranian history was
murdered in the most horrific political assassination in Iranian history.

2. Bazaar of Kashan
The history of Bazaar of Kashan dates back to the 10th century but much of what
is left of the bazaar today is the remnant of the Safavid era. The most
architecturally significant section of the bazaar is Timche-ye Amin od-Dowleh
with an intricately embellished high dome.

3. Tabatabaei House and Borujerdis House
Both of these magnificent century mansions are the work of the master architect
Ustad Ali Maryam. These houses are the perfect example of all the greatness of
Iranian architecture of the 19th century.

4. Agha Bozorg Mosque
Sumptuous houses aren’t the only manifestations of Iranian architecture. One of
the finest historic monuments of Kashan is the splendid Agha Bozorg Mosque.
Built in the 18th century by the grand master Ustad Haj Sa'ban-ali, Agha Bozorg
Mosque is known for its ingenious symmetrical design and the embellishments of
its iwans and ceiling.

Kashan City
Kashan is a city situated
between two of the largest tourist destinations in Iran: Tehran and Isfahan. But
that is not the only reason behind Kashan’s immense popularity. Kashan is a city
located in a region famous for its massive deserts where the severity of heat
withers any kind of vegetation save thorn bushes. But when you enter Kashan, you
are greeted with tall beautiful trees and the most mesmerizing Iranian gardens.
And all these fantastic sights in Kashan are clothed in a rich history that is
nowhere more elegantly shown than the city’s unrivalled set of historic houses.
These masterpieces of Iranian artistry showcase the most sublime instance of
desert architecture with their windcatchers, high arches and stunning courtyards
bedecked with fountain pools and Iranian gardens. The good news is that many of
these palatial mansions are turned into fabulous hotels and now you can book a
room and have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. All of these hotels accept only
Iran’s currency, rial. So, you’d better change your money before going
to these hotels. You don’t have to worry If you run out of money, since it is
now possible to
transfer money to Iran.
